Memorial Day 2017 is Monday, May 29, and that’s just a week away. It’s time to start getting ready for that Memorial Day cookout!
For me, Step One is uncovering the grill and cleaning it thoroughly. We cleaned it when we covered it for the winter, but it’s really important that the grill be clean when you start the season. After all, you’ll be eating food that touched that grill!
Most avid cookout people have a gas grill, but we still cling to our charcoal grill. Charcoal is naturally “dirtier” than gas, so maybe that’s the reason for my obsession with a clean grill.
Step Two is stocking up on Texas Pepper Jelly products. After all, no cookout is complete without them! Craig’s BBQ Sauce, various pepper jellies, Rib Candy, the BBQ injections, etc. . . we stockpile them all because we use them all. And we use them all because our family expects them all, and insists on them all!
Our blog is full of recipes, for cookouts and for kitchen foods. All of our recipes use at least one Texas Pepper Jelly product. All of our cookout recipes work for any kind of grill – whether you’ve got a charcoal grill like mine, or a six-burner deluxe gas grill, or a tiny hibachi. Do you like to camp, and cook over actual wood coals? Our products are delicious in the woods, as well as your back yard or your kitchen.
It’s tradition, in every state, to have a Memorial Day cookout. Make yours even more memorable with Texas Pepper Jelly products!
This is what our crockpot chicken looks like at the beginning. What will it look like when it’s suppertime? It will like like this:
On a related note, this is our first corn-on-the-cob of the season for us. As for the baked beans. . . I use Craig’s BBQ Sauce for those, too. And what’s a BBQ supper without baked beans?
For my brother-in-law Kevin, I chose a box of Texas Pepper Jelly. Now, Kevin can’t eat anything with seeds, but Texas Pepper Jelly has ALL KINDS of products and not all of them have seeds. Kevin opened up a box of Craig’s BBQ Sauce, Apricot Habanero Pepper Jelly, Apple Habanero Pepper Jelly, and Peach Habanero Pepper Jelly. He was thrilled, but he told me later that he would have to hide it or else his wife would eat it. Next year, I’m going to order some Texas Pepper Jelly products for her, too.
My brother-in-law Mike has a gigantic gas grill which he uses year-round. He’s always on the lookout for new and novel grilling sauces, so guess what I ordered for him? A six-pack of Texas Rib Candy, assorted flavors.
I think most of the products have been devoured already. Both families said they weren’t sharing and I believe them. These are my two sisters. They don’t share.
Labor Day Weekend is a huge outdoor backyard cookout time, and Texas Pepper Jelly has a super deal for you!
Order three bottles of Texas Rib Candy and we’ll throw in a free bottle of Craig’s BBQ Sauce!
This is an amazing deal, but you need to get your order in by August 29. So, hurry and order; you’ll want Texas Pepper Jelly products for your Labor Day cookout anyway, so why not order right now and get a free bottle of Craig’s BBQ Sauce?
Remember that at Texas Pepper Jelly, you get to choose the flavors you want, so every order is a customized order.
Here at Texas Pepper Jelly, we like to talk about grilling all kinds of foods: meats, vegetables, and even fruits. A good shish kabob represents most, if not all, of the basic food groups.
People who grill have preferences. This is a bit of an understatement. Each person who loves to grill firmly believes that their own way is the only way.
Gas grills, charcoal grills, campfire grills. . . each of these is the preferred grill for someone. A good griller can find success on any kind of grill, of course, but let’s face it – we all have a grill of choice. Randy Clark recently posted a picture of his picnic grill, and don’t those steaks look delicious!
All Randy needs is a bottle of Craig’s BBQ Sauce, and his cookout would be complete! Ricky works at TKO Graphix, where I’d bet everybody loves some good grillouts!
No matter what kind of grill you are using, Texas Pepper Jelly products will make whatever you are grilling taste even better!
Your hungry football couch quarterbacks are going to want some substantial food, and Texas Pepper Jelly’s thick, spicy meatloaf sandwiches are perfect!
Everybody loves a meat loaf sandwich; we usually use leftover meatloaf, but why wait until the meatloaf is left over to make an awesome sandwich out of it? My husband loves meatloaf sandwiches when he’s watching football, so I always make a big fresh meat loaf for him, our son, and their friends on Superbowl Sunday.
1 pound ground sirloin
1/2 pound ground sausage
1 large onion, diced
1/2 green pepper, diced
1/2 red pepper, diced
3/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup Craig’s BBQ Sauce
1 sleeve soda crackers, finely crushed
What To Do:
Put all of the above ingredients in a large bowl and mix thoroughly. Use your hands. Make sure the ingredients are mixed really well.
Put the mixture into a large baking dish and put more Craig’s BBQ Sauce on top. Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and let “set” for about an hour.
My husband likes his meatloaf sandwiches cold, so I put the baking dish in the refrigerator as soon as it’s cool enough to place on the glass shelf. Usually, I make the meat loaf the night before the big game.
My son likes his meat loaf sandwiches hot, but that’s what the microwave oven is for, right?
When it’s sandwich time, I slice the meat loaf into thick slices, place them on a platter, and put the platter on the coffee table along with all the condiments in the fridge. Lettuce, sliced pickles, and tomatoes go on another platter. Put some plastic knives in a cup, and step back. Put some hamburger buns and some regular bread slices – white and wheat and rye – on another platter. These sandwiches, a bowl of potato salad, a pan of baked beans, and some drinks, will hold your couch quarterbacks for a couple of hours. My crew usually wants some potato chips and popcorn later on.
There’s just something about football that makes even the at-home fans really hungry. Texas Pepper Jelly products will fill those needs better than anything else!
Super football Sunday is coming! February 7 isn’t all that far away, you know, and the big game deserves some awesome food for your couch quarterbacks! Your football fans will want some quality food while they cheer for their favorite team! Cardinals and Panthers alike will want to be munching away while they encourage their team.Craig’s BBQ Sauce is the perfect and versatile ingredient for many of a football fan’s favorite munchies. Let’s start with many people’s favorite: Spicy Baked Beans.
You’ve got things to do on SuperBowl Sunday; here’s the easy version!
1 28-oz can pork & beans
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup finely diced onions
1/4 cup bacon grease
3 slices bacon, uncooked
1 1/2 cups ketchup
1/4 cup Craig’s BBQ Sauce
What to do:
In a large casserole dish, add all ingredients except the bacon and mix thoroughly. Lay the bacon slices on top of the bean mixture.
The Craig’s BBQ Sauce will turn an ordinary pan of baked beans into an absolute feast. You’ll probably have to make another batch before the evening’s over.
We’ll be posting a little more than our weekly usual while we’re heading into Super Football Sunday – we want to be sure you and your family/friends have a veritable FEAST of spicy wonderfulness while you’re rooting for your favorite team.
next week in a few days with more recipes to make your football evening better than you could even dream! (Even the non-football fans will fight you for the food!)
P.S. Check out our winter grill picture on Facebook! (Be sure to cover your grill this winter!)
The temperature here was in the high eighties, in fact. People are still loving to cook and eat outdoors in October!
While it’s true that every season is barbecue season, it’s also true that the vest of all possible barbecue sauces made on Planet Earth is Craig’s BBQ Sauce! There are some good bbq sauces out there, sure, but the best of them still can’t compete with Craig’s BBQ Sauce for perfection.
Craig’s BBQ Sauce has a sweet southern barbecue taste that will tickle your taste buds and make your whole body laugh out loud with delight! Just a little bit of a kick, added to the smoothness and sweetness, combines to make Craig’s BBQ Sauce the best of the best!
Craig’s BBQ sauce is excellent with every kind of meat you’ll ever want to throw on your grill, too. Chicken, pork, beef, lamb. . . all meats are better with Craig’s BBQ Sauce brushed on the top. And the sides. And the bottoms, too. Oh, heck, put a cup of Craig’s BBQ Sauce on the table for dippin’ purposes, too. They’ll ask for it so you might as well beat ’em to the punch.
You can choose between a regular bottle of Craig’s BBQ Sauce or our giant gallon bottle. You might as well order the big one to save yourself some time later on down the road. They’ll want more. They’ll ask for more. You’d better have more!
