Christmas in Texas: Like A Bowlful of Jelly

Craig Sharry | December 19, 2011

Santa, according to the poem, had a belly that shook like a bowlful of jelly when he laughed. Whenever I hear or read that, it’s not regular jelly that comes to my mind any more.

It’s Texas Pepper Jelly.

My family have gotten into the habit of using pepper jelly on something at almost every meal now. So, I’ve gotten into the habit of putting a bowlful of pepper jelly on the table for all three meals.

I’ve caught them all licking the spoon, too.

We put pepper jelly in coffee, sangria, tea, cocoa, and water. We freeze pepper jelly in ice cube trays and drop ’em in lemonade and punch. We put pepper jelly on mashed potatoes, and toast, and biscuits. We use pepper jelly in baked beans, and salads of all kinds. We marinade chicken, and pork, and fish in pepper jelly. Pepper jelly has replaced butter on our table. My kids put pepper jelly on pancakes and waffles and French toast. My husband makes a peanut butter-and-pepper jelly sandwich when he gets home from school. We stir it into soup. We use it instead of salad dressing. We spread it on most sandwiches.

Texas peppr jelly Christmas logoReally, I can’t think of a single pepper jelly “experiment” that flopped. The stuff is just so good.

About that sangria with pepper jelly. . . . I highly recommend that one. I mean, it’s fruit, right?

Be sure you set out a bowlful of pepper jelly on your holiday table. Santa’s watching you.

Merry Christmas from Texas Pepper Jelly

Merry Christmas from Texas Pepper Jelly!

Holiday season is Texas Pepper Jelly season. Lots of you have ordered our products for Christmas, and you’ll get your packages right on time.

If you order now, you’ll get your package well before New Year’s, and believe me, you’ll need our products for New Year’s Eve if you’ve having people over, or going where the people are, or even just sitting at home waiting for the Times Square ball to drop!

So often, the simplest things are the best, remember. One of our favorite things to do with pepper jelly is just to spoon some over a brick of cream cheese and dip crackers and/or raw vegetables in it. It looks and tastes like something you’ve worked on all day, but it takes about 30 seconds to prepare! While you’ve got the jar of pepper jelly out, spread some on your hot biscuits or rolls. You’ll never use anything else!

We know that those of you who ordered our custom gift tins will be the hit of the family reunion or workplace gift exchange. Nobody else will bring what you bring, and they’ll crown you king/queen of the party!

Pepper Jelly is such a simple and delicious thing. But as I said above, it’s those simple things that are oh-so-often the best!

Pineapple Sweet Fire from Texas Pepper Jelly Just in time for Christmas, Texas Pepper Jelly wants to introduce you to our newest products: Candied Jalapenos, Pineapple Sweet Fire, and Loco Cheese Dip!

Our Candied Jalapenos are sweet and only moderately hot, and are so versatile I don’t even know how to begin describing them! They’re awesome as a dip, fabulous as a condiment, and will bring any sandwich to a whole new level!

Now, Bread & Butter Pickles are pretty darn good in and of themselves, but we’ve added peppers and pineapple, and turned them into Pineapple Sweet Fire. The combination of pickles and peppers will make your taste buds laugh out loud. Turn that ordinary cheeseburger into a spicy wonderland of flavor with Pineapple Sweet Fire.

Everybody loves cheese dip, of course, but until you’ve tasted Texas Pepper Jelly’s brand-new Loco Cheese Dip, you haven’t really had good cheese dip. Your chips and raw veggies turn into a gourmet delight when you dip them into Loco Cheese Dip!

Remember, you can order up until December 18 to get your packages before Christmas! While you’re choosing that perfect gift tin for all the people on your list that you love best, why not add a jar or two of Texas Pepper Jelly’s newest gastronomical delights?

You’ll be the most popular person at the reunion.

Pepper Jelly On Your Thanksgiving Table? Heck Yeah!

Craig Sharry | November 21, 2011

Most of us will be creating the biggest and most carefully planned meal of the year this week, and there are so many ways to use Texas Pepper Jelly products, I hardly know where to begin!

Let’s start with the turkey. Did you know that pepper jelly is a fantastic baste for pretty much every kind of meat? I use a “bag” for my turkey, so I only have to baste it once, seal it up, put it in the oven, set the timer, and worry about the top of the stove for a few hours; it’s so easy, and the pepper jelly will soak into the meat and give your family the best turkey dinner ever!

Put some pepper jelly in the dressing, too.

Are you having slaw with your feast? Use pepper jelly instead of regular slaw dressing. Wow, will your family love it!

Don’t forget to set some Texas Pepper Jelly on the table for the hot rolls, or whatever kind of bread you’re serving. Mmmmm, pepper jelly on hot bread!

As for the vegetables? Texas Pepper Jelly is delicious with or on every kind of vegetable that exists – my family has never NOT loved a vegetable-pepper jelly combination.

Oh, and the day after Thanksgiving, when people are making those delicious turkey sandwiches? Break out the pepper jelly for those, too. Your usual condiments will get a rest, instead of a workout, because pepper jelly on a turkey sandwich is so good, there are no words to describe it!

We here at Texas Pepper Jelly hope your Thanksgiving holiday is a tasty and wonderful experience of family, friends, and good food.

Cranberry Habanero Jelly on your Thanksgiving Table

Texas Pepper Jelly Cranberry Habanero Brace yourselves – I’m saying it again: so often, it’s the simplest things that are the best! Or the tastiest, as the case may be. . . .

Our new Cranberry Habanero is so delicious, and so easy to add to other things! These days before Thanksgiving, I like to try things out on my family before putting them on the table and letting my mother extended family be Cranberry Habanero holiday jellythe guinea pigs. Tonight, along with our Apple Habanero baked pork chops, I added a half cup of Cranberry Habanero to a can of cranberry jelly, put it in a clear glass bowl, and was elected Queen by my hungry family.

There wasn’t so much as a teaspoonful left over.

For Thanksgiving, I’m tripling this simple complicated recipe and telling my sisters I spent hours putting it together.

Don’t tell on me.

Texas pepper jelly cranberry habaneroJust in time for Thanksgiving, Texas Pepper Jelly is featuring the delicious Cranberry Habanero Pepper Jelly once again!

Cranberry Habanero pepper jelly is good on almost everything that could possibly be found on a Thanksgiving table. Put a half cup of it in your dressing! Baste your turkey with it! Mix it with your jellied cranberries! Pour some over a brick of cream cheese for a delicious and different pre-post meal treat! Put some over your mashed potatoes instead of gravy! Mix with applesauce for a spicy side dish! Spread it on your rolls or biscuits! Use your imagination, because everything you let our Cranberry Habanero pepper jelly touch will be yummy good!

You’ll be serving cranberries for Christmas dinner, too, no doubt. Why not order extra so you’ll have some Cranberry Habanero for both holidays? You’ll have to hide the extra jar, though; if your family is like mine, they’ll find it and devour it and you’ll have to order again.

Order some for your friends, too. Cranberry Habanero makes a wonderful holiday gift!

Which is fine by us!
